The Lotus Code

I pulled this out of my “7 Points to Success” document.

With apologies to Mark Yarnell, here is my synopsis:

The Action Principle

Taking Action is what makes your business successful. I found a quote from one of my Facebook friends today that describes my success philosophy:

Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at  all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it. So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember, that’s where you will find success.
Thomas J. Watson

You learn from your failures. You will fail more often than you will succeed. But each is a learning experience. Don’t be afraid to fail. It’s how you learn to improve.

That said, it is a good idea to follow the lead of someone who has a lot of failures under his belt, like me! I can show you what is working for me.

One of the things I teach is self-development or developing a habit to improve and keep moving forward. One of my mentors, Mark Yarnell developed “The Lotus Code” with his wife Valerie Bates.  His site, www.TheLotusCode.com has more info.

Here is a short synopsis so you will understand why I it is so important. It fills the gap left after “The Secret” if you have seen that video.

The Lotus Code

1. Thoughts — the entire process begins by cultivating the right thoughts and breaking through mental limitations.

2. Thoughts manifest words — our words reveal or reflect what is in our thoughts.

3. Words manifest actions — our actions result from the words we speak and write.

4. Actions manifest habits — habits are revealed through repetitive actions.

5. Habits manifest perseverance — perseverance results from habitual thoughts and behaviors.

6. Perseverance manifests attainment — attainment is actualized through perseverance.

You can find a more complete explanation at www.TheLotusCode.com I endorse everything that Mark teaches! Great mentor.

A similar concept I teach is what I call SDA – Specific Daily Actions. SDA is a way to get you to keep moving forward in your business. Once you determine the key actions you should take to move your business forward, you can put them into SDA.

The idea is to always move forward. Don’t let failure stop you for a second. Fix what is broken. Learn a new skill. Consult with your mentor. Do whatever it takes to keep
moving forward in your business by taking action repeatedly.

If YOU don’t move your business forward, no one else will.
