Move Over Google – New Search Engine

You Tube  – New Search Engine

Move Over Google – New Search Engine in town!

I think YouTube.com is the new search engine of choice.  I’ve read a lot about that and had many of my mentors tell me the same.  But something happened today that just blew me away and solidified it all the way.

Wild Story:

Story starts with me and my mother-in-law sitting on the deck in the back yard this last spring.  Everything was green with flowers starting to show.  It was a dead still day with not a hint of wind.  We noticed up in the woods behind my house, one leaf that was swaying back and forth constantly.  This went on for over an hour.  My MIL commented that we must have some ‘spirits’ lurking around our house that liked the spring time!  We had a good laugh.

YouTube - New Search Engine

Story continues in July of this year when I was out in the yard after a day of work enjoying a cold one.  Another dead still day with no wind.  In the heavy wisteria that grows on our pergola, I noticed a leaf swaying back and forth just like the one in the woods that my MIL and I saw a month or two before.  It kept moving despite there being no wind what-so-ever.  I went inside to get my video camera.  I took a short video of it commenting to my MIL that the ‘spirits’ had moved closer to the house and were still enjoying our back yard greenery.  I posted the video on YouTube and sent her the link.  She had another good laugh on that one too.

Now, we come to the really odd part of this story.  I had moved most of my videos off of YouTube due to Google’s censorship process but still had a YouTube account where I can post to videos to my MIL and kids from time to time.  I just happened to log into it today and there was a comment and friend request from an unknown person (not a previous friend that is) who found me by searching for “spirits moving leaves”.  She commented that she had experienced the same thing at her home … etc., etc.  Now if my video of spirits moving leaves in my backyard gets found by a search on YouTube, I’m sure that YouTube is the new search engine.

Lesson:

If you want to get “found”, use YouTube for videos!  Thinking back, the first video I did (boy was it crummy), got me #1 ranking on Google search for my chosen keywords that lasted almost 4 months without me promoting it or anything else.  Video is loved by Google, especially YouTube videos.  YouTube: the new search engine

Now; go out and FOCUS on building your business using video!

What a great post!! Youtube is definitely an excellent tool to increase web presence and become successful much faster. I often search for things on Youtube first and if I cant find what I’m looking for only then will I go looking somewhere else. Can I ask what google censorship you are speaking of? I wasn’t aware there was one. Anyway thanks for being so awesome in everything you do Fred! Wishing you the world!

You should really think about working on growing this website into a major voice in this field. You clearly have a grasp understanding of the topics all of us are looking for on this website anyways and you could potentially even make a dollar or two from some advertising. I would look into following recent headlines and increasing the volume of posts you put up and I guarantee you’d begin getting some awesome traffic in the near future. Just a brainstorm, good luck regardless!

Yeah, I think Fred is right that youtube is the new search engine because we only not search on google for some things we want to read for us to know, but we also want to see a video of how it work. Just for example, you want to know how to download “CS5 Photoshop”, you will search it on the youtube to see a video of how to do it than to search it on google just by reading the steps.
